Newborn Session FAQs

When to book your newborn session…
I typically photograph my newborns within their first 2-3 weeks of age. Since I limit how many babies I photograph each month, families typically book months prior to baby’s arrival to ensure a spot for when your baby arrives. This also gives us time to plan the session ahead of baby’s arrival.

How to book your newborn session…
Please fill out my contact form letting me know your due date and which session is best for your family. I will then email you all the necessary info to book. Once booked, I will reserve a space for you around your due date (no worries if baby comes early or late). As soon as baby is born, please let me know and we can then choose a date that works best for your session. Sessions take place during the week, usually starting at 10 am at my Colts Neck NJ studio.

Where your session is held…
Your newborn session will take place at my Colts Neck, New Jersey studio during weekday morning hours. I do not offer home sessions (sorry I would need a Uhaul truck!)

How long does the newborn photography session last?
Signature newborn sessions are up to 2 1/2 hours in length. Newborn mini sessions are one hour long.

What do I need to bring?
Just baby’s necessities are needed. I strongly recommend a pacifier even if you are not using one at that time. Sometimes it can really save a pose we are trying to achieve.

I have plenty of fabrics, accessories and props at the studio. There is no need to purchase anything for the session. If you do have something meaningful that you wish me to incorporate, please let me know and feel free to bring.

Can other family members come along?
Since the studio has limited space and seating, I ask that only baby’s parents attend the session. In the event that dad is unable to join, feel free to bring someone that can help you out. If there are siblings to be photographed, they are welcome into the studio when it is their turn to be photographed and then can head out as soon as their images are taken.

Can my dog(s) be a part of the session?
As much as I am a huge huge HUGE animal lover, I am not able to have dogs inside my studio for allergy reasons and to keep the studio as sanitary as possible.
